Some useful information about the procedure for Mountain Go-Karting:

(frequently asked questions)

You can purchase the Go-Kart and cable car tickets at our sports shop Ski Lenz, located directly at the valley station of the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen (addr. Rohrmoosstraße 218 | 8971 Schladming). For the reservation of the Go-Karts, we need the approximate departure time from the summit (usually we start every full hour from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please consider the cable car ride (approx. 15 minutes) and the time you want to spend on the mountain. You could try one of the hiking trails, enjoy the beautiful scenery, or enjoy the delicious food and cold drinks at the Hochwurzenhütte. Please contact the Stocker family at +43 3687-61177 or www.hochwurzen.at for group reservations. The descent for the 7 km long Mountain Go-Kart ride takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. A restaurant at the end of the Go-Kart track is also located at the valley station. For reservations at the Tauernalm, either use +43 3687-61672 or www.tauernalm.com.

ATTENTION: Strict alcohol ban!

Due to several severe Go-Kart accidents (alcohol, excessive speed, peer pressure) causing life-threatening injuries, intoxicated people are under no circumstances allowed to drive a Go-Kart. Please act in your interest before serious consequences or penalties occur. Thank You!

We would be delighted to welcome you and to make the 7 km long Mountain Go-Kart descent a great experience. You can find many photos, videos, and more information at www.mountain-gokart.at.

Best regards,

ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR

MOUNTAIN GO-KART RIDE? - READ ALONG!

It’s the first time on the Mountain Go-Kart at Hochwurzen? Nice! Here you can find the answers to questions you might have. It helps you to make the Mountain Go-Kart experience as comfortable and easy as possible. Let’s go!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It’s super easy. You can buy the Mountain Go-Kart tickets here at the sports shop and take a relaxed ride up to the summit with the cable car. At the summit, you can pick a helmet and Go-Kart and our guides give you brief instructions on how the Go-Kart works. And then you’re ready to go: 7 km of pure Mountain Go-Kart fun!

WHAT’S MY DEPARTURE TIME?

When purchasing your ticket, we will ask for an approximate departure time from the summit. Don’t worry, it’s not binding, you can ride down before or after that time. It’s just for our planning to avoid waiting times.

WHEN ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED TO RIDE THE MOUNTAIN GO-KART BY THEMSELVES?

From 10 years old AND a height of 1.45 m, they are allowed to ride the Go-Kart by themselves. Below that, the risk of accidents is too high, and it’s more fun for everyone if the child rides along with an adult.

Please trust us, we have over 15 years of experience, and your child's safety is our priority.

FROM WHAT AGE CAN CHILDREN RIDE ALONG?

If the child can hold onto the bar of the Go-Kart, they can ride along with an adult sitting on their lap. There is plenty of space and the Go-Karts are big enough.

Babies and toddlers can also ride along with a baby carrier attached to the chest.

WHAT ABOUT THE SUMMER CARD AND LIFT TICKET?

One mountain ride per day with one of the cable cars of our region is included in the Summer card. The card itself serves as your lift ticket, so you don't need to exchange it. Just head to the cable car, and up you go!

WHAT TO DO AT THE SUMMIT OF HOCHWURZEN?

There is a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious local specialties, a breathtaking view from the sun terrace, a children’s playground, and various hiking trails, such as the “Bankerlweg” (approx. 30-60 minutes). It is really enjoyable up there!

WHEN IS THE FIRST AND THE LAST MOUNTAIN GO-KART RIDE?

We start at 10 a.m. and the last ride departs from the summit at 5 p.m. Make sure to consider the 15-minute cable car ride.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY BACKPACK?

Simply take it with you, no problem. If you have a large backpack, our guides can send it down with the cable car for you. You receive your backpack at the valley station as soon as you arrive at the cable car at the end of the track.

THE ULTIMATE TIP FOR YOUR RIDE:

Wear sunglasses (or something similar). It looks good and protects your eyes from the sun and dust.
